When core dump will not be created even if the server crashed?

  Maheshkumar Subbaiyan if its linux, make sure core dump is set to unlimited for the user which is running the wls
  
  ulimit -c 
  
  Above command should return "unlimited" , if its returning "0" then it wont create any core dump, you can enable the core dump using below command and then bounce the wls to make it affect,
  
  ulimit -c unlimited

  Maheshkumar Subbaiyan when a process exits unexpectedly then it creates on core dump about why it got crashed,this is common with any process just not for java.

  Ashish Gupta is it automatic process or we need to do something in order to generate it .. and also let us know the default location of this.

  Maheshkumar Subbaiyan its automatic and we need to get the coredump to be set as unlimited as mentioned earlier in this psot, it gets created from the location where the process has started from.

  Ashish Gupta ohk you mean in case of applicatoin server crash we can get this under managed server directory and also let me know the file name pattern so that i can identify this easily.. Thanks in advance
