How do we take thread dump in a new file ? Kill -3 PID >> newfile.log is correct or not?

  Maheshkumar Subbaiyan kill -3 pid >> file.txt - doesn't work as thread dump will be redirected to .out file by default, if you are using jrockit then u can use jrcmd print_threads pid - this output can be redirected to a file
